Company Overview

In 1971, Uinta Golf founder Gordon O’Neil grew frustrated with the limited selection and high prices at the local on-course pro-shops where most golf equipment at the time was sold. He also saw an opportunity to create a new kind of golf store that offered lower prices, a much wider selection, and more knowledgeable and helpful employees. The result was Uinta Golf, a small independent retail shop in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gordon’s approach and enthusiasm caught on, and over the years Uinta Golf expanded and evolved along with the golf equipment industry. In 1998, Sean Smith purchased the business and began building on Gordon’s foundation of exceptional service and value.

Today, Uinta Golf has grown to include four successful retail shops, a convenient web store that offers one of the world’s best online club fitting tools, and a state-of-the-art RoboFit equipment testing and fitting center. This new facility includes an outdoor fitting range with the latest Doppler radar ball tracking technology, an extensive collection of the latest demo clubs and equipment, and an advanced swing robot that collects objective, scientific performance data.

All of these pieces tie into a company philosophy that focuses on fueling every golfer’s passion for the game, creating a fun and welcoming environment for customers and employees, and offering every person who walks through the door or visits our online store an experience they simply won’t find anywhere else.
